Privacy Policy
Kaizen Maxxing is a nutrition and workout tracking application operated by Zamorano Productions ("we," "us"). Registration is open to the public. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. When you create an email account, we receive the name and email you provide. Email accounts must verify their address before using the app. Passwords are handled entirely by Firebase Authentication (a Google service); we never see or store your password.
- Body statistics you choose to enter. Weight, height, age, sex, and optional body composition values (body fat percentage, lean mass, fat mass, resting metabolic rate, bone density). These are used only to calculate your calorie and macro targets.
- Nutrition data. The meals, foods, presets, and daily logs you record.
- Training data. The exercises, routines, sets, repetitions, weights, cardio sessions, perceived effort, and personal records you record.
- Content you choose to share. Community foods include the food details and display name you submit. They are visible to other verified users until you unshare them.
- Messages to the operator. Feedback includes your message, account identifier, display name, and—when you request a reply—your verified email address. These messages are visible only to the app operator.
DEXA scan PDFs and label photos stay on your device
If you import a DEXA scan PDF or photograph a nutrition label, the file is read entirely on your device in your browser. The PDF or photo itself is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored. Only the numbers you review and choose to apply are saved.
Food database lookups
When you search for a food or scan a barcode, the search text or barcode number is sent to public nutrition databases (Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central) to fetch nutrition facts. No name, account, or personal information accompanies these lookups.
Where your data is stored
- Google Firebase. Account data and app data are stored in Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Firestore security rules prevent other app users from accessing your private tracker records. Firebase project administrators can access records when needed for support, security, or deletion. Community foods are deliberately visible to other verified users, and feedback is visible to the app operator.
- Retired spreadsheet backup. Through July 28, 2026, selected account email, targets, daily totals, and meal-entry details were also copied to an operator-controlled Google Sheet. The app no longer sends new data there. Historical copies may remain only while that backup is being retired, and deletion requests include those copies.
Abuse prevention
Firebase App Check uses reCAPTCHA Enterprise to help distinguish genuine app requests from automated abuse. Google may process browser, device, and interaction signals for this security purpose. App Check is not used by us for advertising or behavioral analytics.
Your downloadable copies
You can download a JSON copy of your private tracker data and community shares, plus CSV copies of workout history, from Settings. Feedback messages are not included in the self-service export. These files are created for you to download; the app does not send them to a separate backup spreadsheet. You are responsible for storing downloaded copies securely.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not disclose private tracker data for advertising. Content is shared with other users only when you choose a community-sharing action.
- We do not run ads or advertising trackers.
- We do not use third-party analytics.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active so the app can work. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below and we will remove it.
Children
Kaizen Maxxing is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
